Kilimanjaro National Park

Is the top highest peak in Africa and the world tallest freestanding mountain. Kilimanjaro is the most accessible tallest mountain that anyone can climb since it does not require any machine equipment to conquer the summit. Reaching to the peak you can cross various vegetation zones from tropical, Savannah, alpine moorland, desert, snowfield to glacier.

Kilimanjaro Climbing routes

Marangu Route

Marangu Route named “Coca cola route” is the easiest route on Mount Kilimanjaro. Its ascension profile is very gradual and steady, allowing for painless trekking for most of the way. Also it offers sleeping huts for accommodation on the mountain.

Machame Route

Rongai Route

Rongai Route is only route that approaches Kilimanjaro from the north near Kenyan border. Rongai ascent is similar to Marangu though it lacks sleeping huts. It is one of Kilimanjaro easier route. Climbing to the top is gradual and steady. However unlike Marangu the Rongai route has low crowds and passes through remote area.

Lemosho Route

Lemosho Route is another climbing route on Mount Kilimanjaro that approaches from west. It is a difficult and long route, but is favored by most climbing outfitters due to its smaller crowds, scenic variety and high success rates.

Shira Route

Shira Route is a difficult route that begins to the west at Shira Gate. The uniqueness of Shira is that the first section of the trail is not hiked but rather driven. Therefore the climbers using Shira miss out the hiking up one of Kilimanjaro ecological zones the rain forest.

Umbwe Route

Umbwe Route is the least used, least crowded route on Kilimanjaro. Also it is one of the difficult route on the mountain since it is steep, constant and straight climb to the top.

Northern Circuit Route

Northern Circuit Route is also climbing route on Kilimanjaro. This is a unique itinerary since it is only route that visits northern slopes while traversing around nearly the entire mountain. Also it is the longest route on the mountain, in distance and time making it a more difficult route. However, it offers good acclimatization which makes the highest success rate.

  2. Day 2: Lake Eyasi Extensive all-day tuition in survival skills; to include own weapon and shelter making and hunting technique.

  3. Day 3: Serengeti National Park Early morning hunt with the Bushmen, with tuition in survival skills. Afternoon transfer via Ngorongoro Conservation Area with game viewing route drive to Serengeti National Park.

  4. Day 4: Serengeti Narional Park Full day game drive in Serengeti National Park.

  5. Day 5: Serengeti National Park Morning game drive in Serengeti. Then late afternoon with game view while on route transfer to Ngorongoro Crater rim.

  6. Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area/Crater After an early breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for game drive for 6hours to 7hours. Then late afternoon transfer to Lake Natron area.

  7. Day 7: Oldoinyo Lengai Night ascent & dawn summit bid, Oldoinyo Lengai (seismic conditions permitting). Optional waterfall hike and swim.

  8. Day 8: Lake Manyara Morning Lake Manyara game drive. Then Late afternoon return to Arusha for overnight or airport drop off.

  9. Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru Pick up from your Nairobi Hotel early morning at 7:00 am. Drive to lake nakuru arriving in time for lunch and check in at Lake Nakuru Lodge. Afternoon game drive across the Pink Lake often referred so due to its Great masses of Flamingos not forgetting the famous white Rhino and black rhino found in this park.

    Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Flamingo Hill tented Camp or sarova lion hill. Full Board accommodation too. Lake Nakuru houses Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and one of the largest concentrations of black rhinoceros in the world a large population of white rhino. The park features the picturesque Malaika Waterfalls. Also of interest is an area of 188 km around the lake fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild giraffes. Among predators are lion, leopard and large pythons hiding in the dense woodlands which may occasionally be seen crossing roads or dangling from trees. Others game include Thomson’s and Grant gazelle, the long- eared leaf-nosed bat, colobus monkey, rock hyrax, hippo, and waterbuck; Impala, striped hyena, bat-eared fox, wildcat, reedbuck and golden cat.

  10. Day 2: Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara Early morning breakfast. After breakfast leave Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch. check in Masai Mara sopa lodge and have lunch. Afternoon game drive through the park in search of the Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, Buffalo.

    Dinner and overnight at Masai Mara sopa lodge or simba Lodge or Sentrim Luxury tented Camp {This accommodation can be changed in regard to your choices} The Mara is magnificent, home to Kenya’s richest concentration of wildlife, and regarded by many travelers as an essential stop on any tour of Africa. When westerners think of Africa and safari, this is place they imagine – golden grassland plains pocked with acacia, wildebeests, zebras, lions, and jackals bound by together by the cycle of life and death. Three days here will only scratch at the surface of the wonders of the Mara.

  11. Day 3: Masai Mara Morning and afternoon game drives will lead you to some of Africa’s largest lion prides, herds of zebra, antelopes, buffaloes, wildebeest, giraffes, cheetahs, and hyenas.

    Accommodations include en suite restroom facilities and secluded verandahs. In between game drives, lounge at the pool or bar, or enjoy a mid-day nap.   12. Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi Early Morning breakfast at your camp check out of the camp and park and Drive to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. Lunch at carnivore afterwards drop off at your respective hotel.
